Last night I beat one of the most emotional games I played in a while called “heavy rain”,Let me give you a summary of what it’s about, “heavy rain” is about four characters,Ethan mars,Madison Paige agent Norman jayden and detective Scott Shelby, Ethan mars son Shaun is kidnapped by a criminal known as the origami killer and already losing his Son Jason two years ago he didn’t want to go through that again he had received trials from the Origami killer his trails involve doing life threatening and life changing challenges, like driving into straight into traffic or cutting your finger off there is a choice to it, you can either do these things to save his son or think about your own life but doing that will lower the chances of saving Shaun
Game play
The game play is simple you hit buttons to do certain task or there’s the PlayStation move option (which i know nothing about) the game is basically a series of quick time events but rather than dying you just fail the objective and the story changes,some times the controls can get confusing but you can use to it at first I failed a lot but later on started to get how the mechanics work.
The story
The story is about a man named Ethan mars who had lost his son Jason mars to a car accident years before the events of the story he is now in a depressive city and is separated from his wife Grace mars,Ethan lives with his son Shaun mars who isn’t to found of Ethan,Ethan picks up Shaun from school and they go home Ethan looks at his mail and receives a mysterious shoe box and letter, the letter says something about parents losing there children and never seeing them again,after Shaun goes to bed Ethan blacks out which happens often, he regains control in the middle of a road with an origami figure in his hand,the following day Ethan goes to the park with Shaun and Ethan impresses Shaun with his boomerang throwing skills and they then get ready to head out and Shaun asked if he can ride the marry go round Ethan says yes and buys the ticket and Shaun is riding Ethan blacks out again,He regains control again this time knowing he left Shaun at the park and Ethan starts to run to the park,when he arrives no one is there.

Ethan mars
*spoilers ahead* Ethan mars gets a letter saying “When the parents came home from church All the children were gone They searched and called for They cried and begged but it was to no avail The children have never been seen again” this letter was from the origami killer and it was a warning.
Scott Shelby
A private detective that is on the hunt for clues to find the origami killer you first time you play as him he’s going to visit a mother named Lauren one of the victims mom ,you meet lauren and try to ask her about what happen her husband after her Son was kidnapped,she gets upset with Scott and kicks him out of her house we then find out he has Asthma because he starts to breathing starts to shorten he then pulls out his inhalator and uses it (well the player does that),after that he sees a bald man go to the apartment of the women he had just talk to,the bald man started to attack her and Scott had come back to help her, Scott and the bald man had gotten into a fight and eventually the bald man gives up and walks off,scott the women thanks him and says she’ll call if she finds anything Scott then leaves.
Agent Norman Jayden
Agent Norman Jayden is an FBI agent who is sent over to help with the investigation with the origami killer when we first see Norman he’s driving to the crime scene,once he arrives at the scene he sits in his car he’s shaking a lot and he’s holding a tube of blue dust or liquid he exits the car and starts recording with his glasses the glasses are called “ARI” he walks up to a man named Blake,Jayden puts on his glasses and examines the body of a victim that was recently found Jayden can look around some more but if you want he can go to his car and back to the police station.
Madison Paige
Madison Paige is first introduced in her apartment she had woken up from a nightmare,this nightmare can be explained in Heavy rain Chronicles,She awakes and goes to the bathroom to take a shower,she then exits the bathroom and sees the fridge door wide open she walks over to close it and then she hears some one running from behind the lights go out she knows someone is in the apartment and she needs to make it to the front door one of the intruders confront her and she starts to fight them off she then runs into the bathroom and is grabbed from behind a man brings a knife to her neck and starts to cut it she then wakes up again that is where this scene ends.
Final Thoughts
I thought this game was really good it had a great story a lot of options and still has some replay value,I think if I were to rate this game I would give it a four star rating,but the only reason for the four star rating is because of the controls at some points the controls can screw you up bad and you get choices you don’t want,I know this game is about 4 years old but i think if you haven’t played it yet you should because it’s really good and it’s even got PlayStation move support if you have one and want to use it.
